Our team is looking for an enthusiastic, self-driven volunteer to offer 5 to 10 hours a week of fundraising and grant research support. Through activities such as researching grant opportunities, writing short, action-oriented monthly newsletters, updating our fundraising toolkit, and thinking creatively about how I AM YOU can build support with donors and online supporters. The Fundraising and Outreach Volunteer will help expand support for the important services we offer on the ground in Ritsona Refugee Camp.
Accountability and Relationship:
Reports to: I AM YOU Executive Director
Works with: Volunteer Coordinator, Communications Volunteer Location: Remote
● Conduct online research for eligible grants, as well as other sources of funding ● Create and manage a matrix of grant information, including but not limited to: grant requirements, deadlines, amount of funding offered and contact information ● Assist I AM YOU’s Executive Director as necessary on grant applications and maintaining donor relationships ● Write, format, and send monthly action-driven mailers to our subscribers ● Collaborate with volunteer coordinator and communications volunteer on focus for monthly mailer, action steps, and value-centered approach ● Manage the donor database, previous volunteer database, and grant database ● Follow up sizable donations with thank you cards, maintain donor relations ● Help launch and manage crowdfunding campaigns for emergency or short term fundraising gaps ● Recruit Volunteer Ambassadors in their area, manage and train local volunteer ambassadors
Skills and Experience:
● Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
● Remote working experience
● Ability to commit to a minimum of five hours a week ● Comfortable with Google Drive, Facebook, Twitter, Mailchimp, and Instagram ● Previous experience in grant research and non-profit fundraising is desired but not required
The work is voluntary and the ideal candidate will be available for two months minimum. You will not receive any economic compensation.
